happiness |ˈhapēnis| noun the state of being happy
She calls her movement Project Happiness: Paint the World Pretty. This social movement involves the art of paying it forward. Free art is dropped in different communities and the only job of the recipient is to do something nice for someone else. The first time she did this was in her own hometown. She hid over twenty paintings all around San Carlos, on benches, in bushes, up against brick buildings, anywhere she wanted. Each painting had an index card taped to the back describing the movement. Her intention is to paint the world a better place and put smiles on the finders face! This wonderful artist, well she is my friend, Lindsay DeAlba.
This summer, every Friday, Lindsay will drop her own paintings in the mail headed to different cities and states. In your package you will receive instructions on what to do with her art. How generous and awesome is this gal!! Geez, so far within weeks this project, started by one, has spread to over 10 states and 4 countries. People are excited and eager to join in on spreading love and art. I strongly urge you to get involved, at first it takes nothing from you except an email indicating your interest, then a package of free art arrives at your door, then you share with others! That’s it, so easy and so fun! I guarantee it will be the best part of your day. Then when you’re done, tell others!
I was honored to come to Lindsay’s art studio this weekend to photograph her at work on this movement amongst other things. It all got really interesting when the request from Lindsay was, “What do you think if I intentionally rubbed glitter all over my face!” Um, YES!
Please get involved and check out Lindsay’s website to see her other bodies of work and custom ordered paintings!

Adding a sneak peek of a photo is always a great way to get people excited.
