Momentum…

momentum |mōˈmentəmmə-| noun Physics the quantity of motion of a moving body, measured as a product of its mass and velocity.

I was trying to get my son to understand how to make himself go faster on his new bike and a memory popped into my head, when by boyfriend had taught my son the word momentum. He was pushing him on some swings and using momentum to describe what you need to get higher and higher. So the memory popped up and my little guy knew what I was trying to say, and he was off. This was his first time on a bike (with training wheels)! I surprised him with an early birthday gift after purchasing it off Craigslist. I thought he’d hate it, I thought he’d be on for two seconds and never get back on again. Instead we were out front for over and hour and he didn’t want to get off. I look at these pictures and realize my little boy who is a week away from turning four is growing up so fast before my eyes, and it makes me sad. He’s not a little guy anymore, he’s a big boy! I’m trying hard to embrace it, but this week, I’m struggling to let go of these toddler years. Slow your momentum little boy!
