…Achievement

achievement |əˈ ch ēvmənt|noun a thing done successfully, typically by effort, courage, or skill

What a  wonderful achievement. My friend Jamie became the first woman in 7 years to complete the Tactical Flight Officer Training for the Division of Air Support in the LAPD today. After months of stressful and hard training, she received her well deserved flight wings. I was there to be a part of  the event and it was definitely not a typical session for me. On the rooftop of a building in downtown LA, lunch in the hanger, surrounded by about 50 policemen, introductions to Police Commanders and Training Officers, a fly by(two actually), and walking out onto the landing runway to photograph all that went on, no I would not call this a typical day! It was awesome! Congratulations Jamie, you truly are someone I look up to and admire.

Creativity…

creativity |ˌkrē-āˈtivitē| noun the use of the imagination or original ideas, especially in the production of an artistic work. I’m lucky enough to surround myself with a lot of creative people. My friends include actresses, artists, chefs, comedians, a gaggle of photographers, musicians, calligraphers, DIYers, interior designers, quilters, scrapbookers, writers, bloggers, and so on and so on. Needless to say, I’m inspired pretty regularly. This […]

Proximity…

I found it hard to make friends, was always the quiet one, hated small talk, and was anxious if I ever had to lead or carry on a conversation. Shyness, honestly there weren’t to many perks […]

…Sea

sea noun the expanse of salt water that covers most of the earth’s surface and surrounds its landmasses. Why are we so mesmerized by ginormous fish tanks? Why do people young and old, stop dead in their tracks to stare longingly at ocean life. I think it’s because the ocean is so vast, so beautiful, […]

presidio003

greeting |ˈgrētiNG| noun a polite word or sign of welcome or recognition Season’s Greetings! Too early you say? Not for this family. They are prepared for the impending holidays. …Ease

ease |ēz| noun absence of difficulty or effort I’d love to say that each session I do starts out immediately with an absence of difficulty or effort, but that would be a lie. It always, as it should, takes a few setups to ease into picture taking. It’s unnatural for most people. So, as the photographer it is my […]
